Lead for me, John. The version strikes me as being a bit too busy.

it's just when sitting next to one's best friend doesn't imply talking incessantly..

Your well thought out crop puts this image in a totally different location, John. An excellent result.

I'll just take the dog for walk, Mum.
Lead for me, the two of them in their own world.

A lovely restful pose, which somehow reminds me of yesteryears, when life was at a slower pace! Well captured.

Both sitting watching the world go by. Content to be together. How b/g can totally change mood, it gives away the mystery.

A great candid image, like the mono best, sometimes a portrait from the back is more interesting and suggests more.

The lead image is a wonderful composition and the perfect crop proves all those extra pixels are useful - if only to be thrown away.

A boy and his dog . . . Food for thought.
In recent months I've seen quite a lot of children out with their parents. Deprived of television, smartphones and games consoles, barred from playground swings, zip wires and roundabouts, they have all been remarkably old-fashioned and refreshingly curious about their surroundings. This could continue; I sincerely hope so.

We forget how hard it is just growing up at this age, even more so in todays times. His dog is his best friend and the only living thing he feels happy talking to...

Great image...
