Keep your beak out!

By dudler
Emi1 again, from a joint shoot with a friend last week, in an abandoned and partly-fire-gutted building. Plenty of daylight!

I think these masks were popular in some circles before Covid-19: they seem terribly appropriate now. The sort of thing that plague doctors wore to ward off the miasmic transmission of the Black Death.

The more things change, the more they stay the same: I am pretty sure that many people see medical masks as magical, rather than devices that have an effect on the fluid dynamics of virus-bearing droplets of water in air...

Today's blog tells the tale of the day that I perched my camera on top of a church porch...

This is very strange and quite frightening. I wonder if it would be allowed in Tesco.

Strange to think that similarly shaped masks have become so fashionable at the Venice festival yet they were conceived for a much more important function.

Captain BeakySmile Her mask or yours?
Either way, I'd avoid a peck on the cheek.

At the time, the masks unfortunately did not have the desired effect ...
the doctors died of the plague despite the mask.
At that time, various herbs came into the beaks for disinfection

great picture

A darkly appropriate image and photo, John....hints of the Dark Ages (which we may be in in some places....like here.)

I have a feeling that this particular lady would be first in any pecking order.
And early enough for any worm, John.

Great stuff.
