Small packages...

From a joint shoot with Tim (mrserenesunrise) yesterday. The model is Ruthie22, and the venue was Natural Light Spaces in Northamptonshire.

Ruthie is tiny, unconventionally older than many models, and absolutely delightful - as well as having a beauty that is inward as well as outward.

There's something appropriate about the fact that while Ruthie is the shortest model I've ever photographed, NLS is by far the largest studio I've worked in. Even with the studio halved with a screen, there is massive space: if you reckon that a 300mm lens is what you need for portraits, it is definitely the place to go. And take your teleconverter along, too...

What a natural smile. On first viewing I thought we were in a maternity ward, and she was clutching a baby. Well captured as per usual with nice soft tones.

Hi dudler.
I like the exposure and the colours. Framing -wise I would opt for leaving out of the frame the dark angled line that runs behind your model's head, for me it is a unnecessary distraction from an engaging portrait.

Funnily enough this picture as uploaded in the gallery seems to work well with the portrait of a man with a hat and a snakeskin jacket. Together with the viewer they create a strong triangular communication. He looks at her sat in front of him, she looks at us and we look at the man with the hat who looks like wondering "Am I really looking at a woman in the bed or am I too drunk?"
