An excellent result from the set up, John. Well worth borrowing the lens.

If only that was today; I bet it was even better to be there in colour... and warmth.

A little different again John. Really nice composition.
You won't have needed to ask this subject to hold the pose....

I've added 2 mods - simply crops to bring the path right into the corner the second to bring in more into the bottom edge.#
Your thoughts on these?

I rather like the second mod, Dave, because it makes the tree far more dominant, and nowt wrong with the first one, either.

Thank you, for both.

Ah, memories.

A little tweak of the Curves and a little Smart Sharpen in the mod.

Have you tried an IR starting from the colour original?

Dave - it's shot on film: there was never any possibility of a colour version of this particular image! Thanks for the mod!

The camera/lens has dealt nicely with the areas of light and shade, John.
What film was used?

What a beautifully shaped tree. One without all the broken or cut-off limbs to spoil its symmetry. Not a recent image, as no leaves lying about!

Hi, Malc. It's actually in there, but hidden under 'More EXIF' - it was HP5.

Ah, the path, the avenue to wrath. Lol. As one considers cropping the path as in mod1 they should pay attention to the result that the crop causes to the tree. The crop leaves some branches badly chopped. The tree is the main subject of the picture and the existing framing displays it beautifully; the path is not a detrimental issue that should be "fixed". So live and let... nature does its job.

The mods work.....and the lead is terrific, John.
