I do like the Nik version - Not a package I've used more than once or twice.

And, there was magic. Lead and V2 for me.

A toy from Maplin's? I have one of those somewhere!
I like the lighting - the led image works best for me.

Main upload for me, crop and light just perfect for atmosphere. Science meets alchemy. This comes to mind...

The mad professor?
Good advice re experimenting for ourselves.
If you do something the same way every time, you'll get the same result.

Have just revisited and had another though - as I said I like the lighting of the lead image; but I think it would be even better if you were looking straight into camera - just my thoughts...

Looking straight into the caemra was the hardest part: see the complete misses in yesterday's blog. Here, at least I got my eyes pointing the right way...

Tether vs timer: with a timer or cable release, you can look the camera straight in the eye. Glancing down at a screen makes it harder.

Each version has its own merit, John so I'm not even going to try to choose a favourite.

What a man of mystery you look.

What's next? If there are vampires out there, they probably drink artificial blood plasma substitute..
p.s. a great set, and the lead image will be my pick after some hesitation

You mentioned shadows, I had had to play about with them.

Lead image, without hesitation. Mystery but not implausible.
Award also without hesitation.

Sometimes somebody somewhere comes up with an utterly brilliant piece of work in photography. This is one I would call as exceptional! Superb John! David

I see the issue - can you set the tether to a do a few second delay after you press the 'shutter' button which would give you time to lokk in the right direction?

DA and tethering? Even more complication.

I shall experiment further with the system, so that I have the confidence to pose and click at the same time. But staying perfectly still while altering hte direction of one's gaze is not trivially simple - at least, not for me!

My thoughts exactly. Well the other one is from a stylist's point of view. I think a white lab coat, or a blue boiler suit or a black turtle neck jumper or a black wet suit would send this to another universe Smile

Are you charging yourself up, John? Tethered, of course...Wink
On balance, I think the lead is probably the very best of a very good bunch.

Pablo, turtle neck? Wet suit? That might send it to another universe, but it wouldn't be a portrait of me any more! An interesting idea, though. The nearest I have is a blue warehouse coat, bought to preserve my shirts from the staining effects of splashes of used fixer in the darkroom...

Are you auditioning for the role of the villain in the next bond movie ?.
A Black Wet suit? I've got one you can borrow if you fancy giving it a go SmileSmile, as long as you promise
never to post the pictures.Smile
Very nice experimentation John, looks like fun.

You watch me and I'll watch thee....I can still work for two and drink for three....

Maybe add a magic stick and a wizard hat ?. although the wet suit does sound much more original.
Some nice wizardy with the remote John ...sparking up more than a few ideas on the Z with this one .
Best regards
Walt
