Very old-style Hollwood glamour star here, John. Simple and very effective use of (natural?) light. The positioning of the shadows perfect.

It could be a page from the Photoplay magazine from the 1940's. Masterful lesson in using light to model a face.

Beautiful, Lovely model excellent lighting. Very nicely done John.
Correct me if i'm wrong but I think Malc may be wrong about it being natural light.
I remember what you told me about looking at the catch-light in
the eyes. Can't be sure, it may be a reflector but it's not window shaped.
One of your Ikea alternative's perhaps? SmileEither way, a very effective and
'classic' look.

Excellent. Straight out of the 1930s. A sepia tint would work a treat.

Dave, you're quite right. I think it was a flash with a smallish reflector and a honeycomb, but I am not sure without going back to the archive. Definitely flash, though, given 100 ISO and f/5.6. 1/100 and Manual are also a bit of a giveaway, with my standard settings...
