Actually, I was referring to the sale of the dutch artist J.J.Schoonhoven's work. How could they made this cruel mistake? It so obvious.

Not so much a "mistake" as a case of gross incompetent stupidity, in my opinion.
Made even more scandalous by the fact that Sothebys seem to think that they have done no wrong!

Sterk staaltje. In combinatie met de titel helemaal goud. Je blijft denken en draaien. To the point.

Dank. Was naar aanleiding van een uitzending op Canvas afgelopen week. Gestolen werk van J.J Schoonhoven geveild door Sotheby's. Kleine nalatigheid was dat het werk 90 graden gedraaid was. Kniesoor die daar erg in had. That's Art!

Google translate is sometimes a big help...

I don't agree. Mostly the translation (which Durante and i don't need) could create a very disturbed conversation. Since our conversations are already heavenly disturbed it would create confusion. In which none of us would be pleased. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I get the point - but, for the average Englsihman, who is woefully ignorant of all languages, it gives a rough idea!

It is often illuminating to translate something, then translate back, and see how far from the original things have strayed. Bring on the Babel Fish.

Now we get to the point... and not even translated. Although... Englsihman? Wink

Laughing...

My keyboard can't spell, of course. And one thing that Google hasn't managed to mess up yet is translating Estuary into English...
