Reading alone

Good stair shot, agree though about the above the head building distracting from the stair emphasis. Click for the capture!

EXcellent use of perspective!
I'd just try isolating the aforementiond building and lighten it up so that it blends into the background a little easier.

Powerful, but I agree with aop. It's cheating but I would use the wall texture to the left and clone that to fill the background area. I would also rotate a few degrees clockwise to straighten the photo using the second step down as the horizontal reference point.
