Thanks for all your comments. Suzi - no problem. Patrick - up until yesterday, I only had the CS version of photoshop and so didn't have HDR. Now I have CS3, but I'm yet to try the HDR function as I have to grab a handful of shots specifically for it.

At the moment, I'm brushing off old skills, not having touched the cameras for almost 3 years, and will be moving on to all the new ones I have missed next.

Rotton little daughters. [Mumble. Grumble.] If she's going to make a habit of getting better photos than me and without any previous experience, I'll grab my camera back and make her buy her own! Harumph! What's worse is that I agree with comments here and do think that hers is the better shot. All the more galling as the longest her lens went to was 55 mm and these guys are tiny and kept moving.

Thanks. My daughter's shot is uploaded under her id of avidreader. It will be in the junior gallery.

Beautiful - such texture makes me want to reach out and touch this.

Beautiful portrait - wonderfully lit. I thik that the coposition would be slightly stronger if the image were rotated slightly CCW to put her nearer the diagonal, but it's a great shot as it is.

The space around him and the people moving around in the background are great. As too are the straight and contrasting lines of the floorboards and steps. A shot full of character.
