I love this and I plan to do more more infra red shots myself. Its a great inspiration.

I found my old Dimage 7 was particularly good with infra red as it has a higher sensitivity than many other digital cameras in that wavelength and can be done easily handheld. My new Canon EOS 10D needs exposures in the range of 1-10 seconds to get similar results so have to use a tripod. The most challenging subject is portraits as the exposures I used in my infra red photos on my page on here were 4 seconds, but the good side to that is that it allowed some natural colours to show such as skin tones if the light is right.

Dear All,

Thanks for all your kind comments.
I was pleased and surprised to get a good picture from this trip out as it was just a quick jaunt down our lane to get some fresh air and escape the house, funny how the best pics come when you least expect it!

Amazing what infared imaging can do, this is beautiful. I have the Canon 10 D and very interested in your remarks regarding the Dimage you have retained for this purpose. What's the results like with the 300D? I have this camera and the 10D, they share the same chip and wouldn't mind having a go at IR

Wow, the more I see IR pictures the more it inspires me to get an IR filter, just not sure if my camera will take pictures as well as the ones found in your gallery. Really awesome. Some really inspirational pictures.

Here is a very informative website about digital infrared photography, and it also has information about how to test your camera to see if you can use it for IR
