Anticipation

By EAS
So sorry, I have been unable to keep up over the past few days and this is likely to continue. I have to rely on satellite broadband as we are so far from any modern system and we are only allowed a set number of hours which it seems I have exceeded! We are now down to a pace even a snail would object to! It does mean I can't even vote at the moment or I'd be here until midnight.

In Victorian times flowers meant so much more than today, though I am never averse to receiving them! According to the Language of Flowers, one meaning the Victorians would have assigned to Anemones is "anticipation". appropriate in my case as I anticipate returning to a normal speed in the near future! Lol...I love how you've tied this in so well to your current unfortunate situation of being tied up digitally Smile

But in all seriousness, that must be so annoying, Ann. I hope it gets resolved soon!

This is one STELLAR floral portrait, by the way. The detail and colours are WOW.

Simply exquisite Smile

A beautifully isolated and colourful anemone.
So glad to know that you too are into the Language of Flowers, Ann.
Its Greek name is derived from the word anemos, meaning "wind."
In mythology, anemone is the name of a wind nymph, also a reference to her beauty.
As well as Anticipation, it's also associated with unfading love, truth and sincerityGrin, but on the negative side represents being forsaken, and fading hopeSad.
