Close-up & Personal

Sometimes I think this is the only view I am allowed with Hoverflies and Bees! However, I did think this had enough detail to be interesting. The image was captured using my original camera.

We've had some ghastly weather on Friday when it was bitterly cold and extremely windy with torrential rain. No sign of butterflies, hoverflies or bees that day. Thankfully they are all around the garden again today. These extremes of weather must be so hard for them.

Thank you to all who took time either to vote/vote & comment on my attempts at landscapes. I shall try a few more thanks to your encouragement.

It is a photographic truth that I have learned from experience that for every head on shot of a bee or Hoverfly you will get 100 of their butts!

Lovely shot.

I concur with Lynne's comment above, I haven't had much success this summer when attempting to photograph bees. A fine close up shot by the way

The one thing about a butt shot of a bee/hoverfly is that they do have very attractive bums (unlike some other species - too many to mention)!

A fine close up shot
Lovely shot Ann the detail is exquisite... we have had quite a few butterflies/bees/hoverflies in our garden within the last couple of months or so, but like you say, the weather now is confusing for them, we still have blooms in the garden, but like you say, it has got to be hard for them.

Wow...lovely detailed capture, Ann.

We've had three days of lovely weather now which is a PHEW considering the rain and ridiculous humidity for the 1-2 weeks preceding that. Laundry was a nightmare, as you can imagine.

Hopefully the sunniness continues for a while.
