First of the Blue

By EAS
As the title says, the first of the Blue Poppies - really Meconopsis (Himalayan Blue Poppy) to flower this year. V1 taken in fairly stiff breeze, V2 another day of showers at least providing some pretty waterdrops! All Meconopsis prefer cooler conditions and some shelter. They also like some shade. So far this Spring has given them the conditions they tend to thrive in, proving, if need be, that one man's meat is another man's poison and that this applies to plants too! Grin

Many thanks to those who looked in on my previous posting.

These blue poppies are always such a delight to see, Ann: glad your's are thriving in the less than summery weather.
I have tried growing them with a total lack of success.
Two lovely shots, detail immaculate and colour spot on..........and rain drops 'spot on' too.

I prefer v1 as it does not have the distraction of the sky

Two exceptionally good images V2 is my favourite even thought the sky has not too much detail the poppy far out weighs the lack of sky detail for me x
