Jack Frost Was Here

For a time it felt as though we'd never see the sun again, only rain and constantly grey skies. Then it was frost and snow. It's been a delight for the past week or so having lovely sun-filled days but we're back to grey today! Not everything about frost is bad though as I hope these 2 Wild Primrose images show! Perhaps I ought to state, " No Primroses were harmed in the making of this" as they may look sweet and delicate but they are in fact tough as old boots!

Many thanks to all who took time to look in on the previous images of butterflies. Still something to hope for come summer 2013!

They are pretty resilient against the weather, as they have proved here, Ann, two lovely Spring captures. Carol

The frosting on the blooms adds another dimension to the shot, and hopefully they'll be hardy enough to withstand such an assault.
Two lovely shots of this promise of spring, Ann, either one of which could sit happily in the V 1 slot.
After a week on cloudless blue skies we seem to be back to the norm today.

Couldn't agree more! These early flowers, along with things like Snowdrops and Aconites are pure delight after the stark, cold days of winter but they are still winter flowers rather than those of Spring!

Lovely duo Ann...... we have had sun here today for the first time in weeks GrinGrinGrin

Primula, one of my favorite flowers that I seldom see any more. Loved to see these in the spring in Norway, and it they were growing wild they smelled heavenly.

In fact you could! Primroses are used to decorate sorbets and cakes sometimes and are safe to eat.

Two beautiful images of these primroses touched by the frost, they look like they have been coated in sugar. Jack Frost has been around rather a lot these past few days, hopefully we shall not see too much more of him this year!
