Leucojum autumnale

By EAS
One of the harbingers of Autumn here in my garden, Leucojum autumnale, otherwise known as the Autumn Snowflake, has slender, wand-like stems carrying several white bell-like flowers tinged with pink in early Autumn. The leaves resemble fine grass and grow to around 6 inches long. Originally native to the Mediterranean, it prefers a sunny spot but is tolerant of cooler, damper conditions. Hope you like these tiny and seriously difficult to photograph little beauties half as much as I do!

A special thanks to digital_boi, Bzox and Alan_Baseley for their generous and much appreciated UAs. Thanks to all others who took time to look in on my previous image.

Off out today and not sure when I'll be looking in. Please forgive if I give only a click. Life is challenging at the moment!

I have seen Leucojum Vernum but never Autumnale: what delightful wee blooms, beautifully lit and captured, Ann.

A very well observed, composed, exposed and photographed set of floral images with great colour and detail throughout.

I appreciate the seriously difficult element Ann and what a wonderful job you have done in capturing these lovely images. V4 is my favourite.

What a gorgeous set of images Ann, they are such pretty little flowers. I never knew there was an autumn variety of these, I'd only ever seen them in the spring before.

Interesting Ann, and not unlike but quite different from the summer snowflake I have -- delightful image, I like the echoes in the background!

I think you've captured these beauties really well, Ann Smile

My favourite here has to be V4 without a doubt. I simply love the light and formation there.
