Splish, Splash!

By EAS
Hi, everyone. Hope you are all well? Horrid day here, wild windy and wet so not exactly gardening weather.

Thanks to all who looked in/commented /voted on my previous posting. Hope you like this one, just one of the hundreds of Poppies which suddenly appeared this year. Last year there were only around half a dozen so clearly they were doing their clever best and awaiting better weather. I do know Poppy seeds of 80 years of age have been successfully grown, so 1 year's sleep-over would have been nothing to them! I liked the colours in this, the reflection in the tiny pool and the little visitor as well.

Nice to see you back, Ann, and with a stunning macro shot of this pretty poppy with it's paddling pool for the wee visitors.
Superb colours and detail.
The weather is ghastly here too and such a shame as it's the first day of the World Pipe Band Championship at Glasgow Green.

It has indeed been a fabulous year for poppies, and this gorgeous image will serve as a stunning reminder if they take next year off.

Hello Ann lovely to hear you and with a beautiful close up shot, love the reflection in the little pool and colours. I was sorry to hear that George was still in considerable
pain and is giving up most of the farm it's a great shame and i wish him well. I hear all the time how one person has the operation and is as good as new then i hear of someone else who it doesn't work for, 85 year old George from the allotment had to have a new knee he is fine and still working his allotment and yet his younger brother had one and can't walk properly i find this very strange and i'm beginning to think it's all down to how good the surgeon is.

Such a pretty capture....
Strange but last year I had so many poppies.
This year none....
I put it down to the fact i had collected the seeds to cook with....

Poor bugger, looks like he's going to drown.
A superb shot, sorry to hear that you have such bad weather. We had a lovely autumnal day here. Sunshine, but relatively fresh air - just as I love it.

Now that is one GORGEOUS frame-filling close-up, Ann! What a beauty SmileSmileSmile

What you said is amazing about 80 year-old poppy seeds being viable!! Wow. Plants really are something else, aren't they? Grin

The blue peas over here are doing well although I haven't seen the lilacky ones for a few weeks. The single petal ones at my brother's place put ours to shame, though. The light must be just right. His plant is actually from OUR plant but his flowers are BIG and a stunning BLUE. So unfair!!
