Gran #24 (B&W)

By electricsoup
This is one image in a series of around 50 portrait images I did of my Gran recently.

I wanted to see what people thought of these and perhaps offer something different to the usual abstract imagery I put on here.

Look forward to your comments and fingers crossed for clicks. Hope you like 'em. Thanks for looking.

Yes, this works. Good question: what does your gran think?

It is a good question yes, but have not shown them to her yet, as when I told her I would bring them to show her, she said; "What do I want to look at pictures of me'self foh".(She has a Salford accent). Will give feedback when I do though I have shown them to my Dad though and he liked seeing pictures of his Mum.

The black and white tones look brilliant. This is proving to be an excellent series.

I like the phone next to her - accentuates the fact that she's frail (and the walking stick)

The walking stick in the corner is a very strong emotive element within the overall image. Well composed. Bruce

This one is a very good. The black and white, the surroundings, the mood are all there. (If I were your Gran, I wouldn't like the fact that my knees were showing....but as a photographer, it shows a typical pose of an elderly person). I would suggest cropping it in from the left a bit, so the image starts at the cane. That way your eye travels from her to her surroundings, and necessities of her life.
