Olympic Gold

Title cos he looks like a sweating athlete.

I wanted to create a protrait, but had no one to pose for me, so used this statue instead. I like the real portrait feel to it without the tantrums. He just stayed still, and got rained on, without moving or complaining!!

Please let me know what you think - good or bad. I am always keen to learn more. :o)

This is a terrific image, and it does look like a sweating athlete! Great title, excellent capture of the detail and a very well worked shot.

PS: Are you looking at this Pete?

Oh 'eck I'm going to be critical sorry, but the border aint working for me, I'm not sure why but its blunt againt the statue, I'm probably talking pants cos I'm getting everything wrong just lately. But I do like it, really I do Wink K.

I like it. The lighting is great and so are the colours.

I don't think it needs the border though :0)

Great! - like the "sweaty" idea & I'd never of thought of the bold yellow! - looks great. Have to agree with K about the border though - I'd have continued it all the way round the shot.

Just an afterthought, but have you tried a gradation intead of a solid colour for the Bground?

Lovely statue shot, especially with the water detail, sits so well in the yellow. I rather like the unusual border - contains the yellow

Nice shot, - like the framing and background, - it really stands out as a thumbnail.

Thanks Mike, love as always.

Thanks Edward, Eric and Steve. I appreciate you 'coming around' :o)

Hello K. Thanks for the comment. This is a new sort of a border for me and I kinda like the way he is sitting above it. But I guess it is not for everyone!! I really appreciate you being critical. :o)

Thanks Jan and Mary, I appreciate your comments as always.

Steve, thanks for your comments and suggestions. See comment to K re border, and I really tried for a gradient. What I really wanted was a brickwall or a concrete wall (sort of sugerbird like), but I just couldn't find out how to do that on PS 7. Me and Layers are not very friendly!! I will try again later. Thanks for your comment :o)

Mark and Melanie thanks for your encouragement, borders are very personal things and I am still playing around with them. dont always get them right!! :o)

William and Chris - thanks very much, for dropping by and giving me a chance to get to your portfolios. I'll be back!!! :o)

Jill - I was tring to get a sort of 'sugerbird' look to it. You were my inspiration :o)

Phil and Richard - too late for offers now!! Where were you when I needed a male model. Mike does pose reluctantly, but wont let me post any of his pictures!! :o)
