And now for something completely different from me!!

These are two dive boats moored up on Jackson Reef in the Red Sea. It was amazing how many dive and snorkel boats there could be on one reef, sometimes up to 30, all tied up to each other!! There was more than two at this reef, but I didn't get them all in!!

I love diving, so this image really resonates with me, but I also like the busyness of these two boats, there is really loads going on. A lot of the people are looking at something, the others are just ignoring it.

This is my first attempt at this sort of thing, so I am looking forward to receiving your comments, and am willing as always to accept critisism!!

Cheers all

Ella

Like it, been there. Unfortunately all this uncontrolled activity on some reefs in the Red Sea has completely destroyed the coral, which is sad.

Looking at it, I am not sure that it wouldn't suit a B&W better. What do you think?

Thanks Sam, yes we saw snorkellers walking on the reef which just horrifies all divers!! The day we went to one of the wrecks, in really heavy weather, one of the boats tied up to the anchor chain of the wreck, making it move!! No respect at all. Anyway enough of a rant!! :0)

I think this is a great image, Ella. It reminds me of those "Where's Wally" books for children in which full page illustrations showed an assortment of activities going on all at the same time. Excellent.

Great shot, love images with plenty of activity like this. Re Bassan's point, I suppose this tourism may eventually be beneficial - its raised awareness of coral reefs and hopefully measures will be taken to protect them, if only for the benefit of the tourism industry!

Thanks Will, for your comment. I am not sure if the protection measures are happening quickly enough in the Red Sea, and I have seen what overdiving does on the Great Barrier Reef, but you are right, it should raise the awareness of the problem.

Thanks Mary, for your comment, always happy to hear from you.

Magda, I didn't know you were a diver, it does make you want to leave the autumn and chase the sun, sea and reed somewhere, doesn't it.

Patricia, thanks for your comment, thats what it makes me feel like as well!!

Nice shot, Ella. Brings back memories.

Cracking shot, there is so much going on in this shot, it's almost like the "Where's Wally" books. The yellow shirt, pink bucket and orange bouy all add little dashes of colour too. Love it. Thanks too for the kind comments on my recent uploads. You had been conspicuous by your absence of late.

Thanks Jan, the underwater world is indeed very amazing. I will have to dig out some of my underwater shots, to see if they are up to EPZ standard!!

Hello Mike, yes I have been doing other things than EPZ (there is a world out there!!), but I miss it. Thanks for your kind comments as always
