Thank you francesco and Dave!

Votes tend to go up the longer time I have to comment on other images, so this is my own "fault" Smile I don't mind, thank you for "keeping an eye" on me Smile

this is something I've already noticed also for my pictures. It means that in many (thank god, not in most) cases it is a matter of public relation; some EPZ members act as they were in a social network.
Just to be clear, I don't think it is a bad thing, but for sure the numbers of votes does not reflect necessarly the quality of the picture.
keep up with your excellent work!

I voted on this last night but was too tired for commenting. It has an interesting effect for me - the tram is moving against the line of sight that the lead-in suggests, from left to right, and that creates tension. Oh and that little figure on the right...
I value the site for the serious eye-opening and mind-opening help that I've received, often from very simple comments, and for the social intercourse as well, and I think they both have their place.

Thank you francesco and Moira.
Moira - interesting that you perceive it as moving from left to right. I would think that is a UK perception, from driving on the left side. The tram is coming towards me, driving on the right (!) side Smile

So that suggests that we view an image differently depending on what part of the world we come from. Generally objects move into an image but the way Moira see it its moving out.. Interesting.
Great shot by the way Smile

Just to clarify, I see the diagonal of the cable moving left to right, as the eye 'expects', but the tram moving right to left - that's the tension for me (against the line of sight that the lead-in suggests). I just don't express things very well before I've had a decent lunch...

Such wonderful atmosphere - and I love the way the tram is coming towards me and not away - it works totally for me Ellie - you have a natural eye it seems to be. Great photography. I would be very proud to have taken this image.
