Lion.

By EmmaG_M
Yet another from my trip to knowsley.

This young male lion was lay in the grass watching the younger cubs. He looked so regal, I hope one day to go back and see him all grown up.

I shall upload the original as a mod so you can compare.

I cropped it square making the lion central, I then cloned out anything distracting in the background, such as an orange spot to the left (another lions leg) and a sign post to the back, I then added some grass to the right of the lion so the focus was entirely on the lions face and head.

I sharpened up the eyes, nose and mouth and removed the slightly green colour cast using hue map. I then removed the noise, which lost some of the fur detail which is annoying but overall it works, well I think it does anyway!

All thoughts and critique welcome!

Nice shot, well positioned, I took the liberty of altering a few bits, took out the distracting grass around the face etc, but lovely portrait of the Jungle King. Well done.

he certainly is a fine beast and you have captured him wonderfully. the square format works perfectly and i like the way the surrounding green makes him stand out even more. if i was ever an animal i would be one of these as i have the hairstyle for it already - a lion or alternatively a crocodile Grin
