Super shot - the mono has the edge for me.

Amazing. I particularly love the lines of the cloud taking you to the boat on the horizon.

I agree, would be great to see flower stand out a bit more, it's so pretty. Love the fine details on the petals.

My inlaws are from Ponte - how come it never looks this good when I get dragged up there?!?

A great shot. Love the reflection.

Sorry - you're right more info would have been far more helpful!

It was shot in RAW f5.6 at 1/200, probably taken in Av mode but could have been P. White balance set to daylight. Picture style is set to neutral.

I use a centre point focus and was trying to focus on the eyes but I think in hindsight I missed it slightly. I really struggle with this in practise as getting the kids to hold still is impossible and no matter how hard I try I just don't seem to be quick enough. I've lost track of the number of shots I've got that look fine on the camera but when I view them on the computer the eyes are soft.

I boosted the exposure slightly in PS, tweaked the level and had a go at an S curve (my first attempt) to improve the contrast. Though again with hindsight I agree it still looks somewhat flat.

She has such dark eyes that every time I increase shadows they go completely black. I tried dodging them a bit but much prefer what you've done. I'll have to have another go.

For sharpening I created a new layer, changed to luminosity and reduced opacity and applied the unsharp mask set to about 150% with a radius of 1.5 and a threshold of 3. I confess I'm expirmenting rather than really knowing what I'm doing on this yet!

    Kind regards
