I used curves to over expose. I thought that the orange and black look pretty wierd.

A little too over exposed for my taste, but a well executed image all the same. The comp is spot on, but I would bring the exposure down a little, as the Tern's wing is burned out, losing detail. Hope this helps.

Nice composition. I agree with 'paulrosser' about the exposure.
It is not asy to get a sharp photo of birds in flight, but you've done this one nicely.

A beautiful image.

If I sit upright (as one should!Wink), the wing does look a little burnt out. But if I slouch it looks okay and the darker background provides a contrast and doesn't look so bad! I really do like this idea though - a beautiful bird, simply presented. Well done! Smile

Personally, I like the composition and Hi key effect ~ with regard to exposure the over exposed areas are exactly part and parcel of the Hi key'dness type image ....
I think less is indeed more here.
