Revolutionising Tripods: The Benro Theta Is An Auto-Levelling Travel Tripod

Early One Morning 1

By woolybill1
A visit to Beamish museum three weeks ago on the only day for a month with a promise of decent light.
After the regular walk round the perimeter to the town centre café we went round the corner to the Fifties Village and a long row of full-sized contemporary posters, this one an advert for Co-Op Tea. I wanted the nearest one in focus and the rest tapering away but gave up after half a dozen frames because of the harsh direct sun sprinkling a myriad specular highlights off the frost-caked posters.
This is the closest I could get to a decent result; it caused me more grief than all my other subjects and took double the processing time of the rest put together . . . .

Thanks for all your votes and comments yesterday, they are much appreciated.
Thanks for looking.

Worth the effort Bill.
Hope Moira was patient, at least until the 10th frame.

I think she was chasing a few shadows, Dave😏

Warming the pot always pays good results 😁

Beginning to lose face, Bill. Smile

An ominous object beside his left foot.
Maybe something brewing.

Works for me! Love it.
Well worth all that effort.
Sit back, relax, have a brew and place this where it will catch the light. 🙂🏆
(Just a thought ... am I out of order in suggesting that cropping out some of the right hand side of the image might be interesting? I've tried it with a piece of paper just leaving in the black vertical band which borders the brightly lit area. To my untrained gaze it removes a distraction (?) and seems to harmonise with the diagonal shadow across the teapot. I hope this doesn't cause more grief but Samantha says she'll pop round later with something warm and soothing.)

Still a fine shot, Bill, despite the conditions you were faced with 😃👍🏻

Far from it - not out of order, I mean. The dark right side continues the line of posters; the original intention was to show them but the contrast was as uncontrollable as the logic of Mrs T...... of N.... W.... . And once I had reached that conclusion I forgot all about it 😖🙁😖
A square crop would work, I think.

Well worth the trials and tribulations, but merited the effort?

He does not look very happy about having his photo taken, Bill. Was his protest verbal, or merely visual?

Tis a lesson you should heed,
Try, try, try again,
If at first you don't succeed,
Try, try, try again.
Then your courage should appear,
For if you will persevere,
You will conquer, never fear,
