Second Thoughts

By DicksPics
Firstly, many thanks to Glenn(gconant), Dave(HobbitDave) and Isabel(Chinga) for their wonderful awards for my 'MG TD Midget' upload and for all views, votes and encouraging comments - all very much appreciated, as always.SmileSmile

Tonight's upload is another series of images taken from the bird hide during our recent visit to Center Parcs, Whinfell Forest in Cumbria.

The triptych version shows the split second series of events which culminated in the hasty retreat of the little bird on the right of the lead image.

I love the expressions of all of our feathered friends involved in this little fracas!!

Once again, I would really appreciate some help in identifying these birds - I think they're all finches!

Like flowers, don't know much about bird species! But I do know I like your two images here, Richard, especially the triptych, excellent detail and quality 😃👍

Rust and grot shots were taken at Faversham creek, old mooring points I guess.

A splendid sequence of images RichardSmileSmile

The top bird on the feeder is a Greenfinch, bottom of the feeder Chaffinch and I'm pretty sure the one in flight is a Greenfinch too.Smile
I would say the two hidden on the feeder are probably Greenfinches too.

Lead image - middle bird bottom of feeder - as sure as I can be that it's a male chaffinch. The one's either side might be greenfinches or could be juvenile chaffinches but whether male or female I have no idea.
In any event lovely shots! 😀🏆
