Alhambra Bradford 2

By ErictheViking
In this picture I chose to highlight the iconic towers of the theatre, I then used effects to create an evening shot with the towers and dome illuminated

Sorry mate but this doesn't look like a night shot to me, it reminds me of looking at old 35mm negatives with a light behind them. I'm not keen on this effect and would like to see the colour version posted as a 'version' of this one.

Thanks for your comments Dave, I had expected a more useful critique rather than your personal views but shots like these are not to everybody's taste.
I find your comment about an old negative interesting, however when you compare the two there are distinct differences.
At the end of the day this is a Black and White digitally manipulated solarised photograph

Its an interesting effect Eric, and it works as a solarized shot. Not really as a believable as an evening or night shot. Its actually not so easy to visualize an evening shot without a warm tone, or a night shot without a blue tone.

So, for me the shot works, but works better if you dont describe it as an effort to emulate an evening scene, and simply a solarized interpretation of an architectural shot?

For fun, I added a couple of night mods, second one used your colour version. Will try an evening mod of this one above also.

I like your original colour shot, a dramatic composition, I like your original post too. However for me the first blue mod by Willie is the best of these series of images.
I think you should keep working on this subject and technique, there is a very striking picture waiting.
