The Aftermath 2

By saltireblue
The silence is just as heavy as in the first view.

A very interesting comparison, I've been going backwards and forwards... I prefer the angle on the shoes in the previous upload, but the hint of warmer tone in the bag here is effective. Plus this is the wider view, although taken at the same focal length; it includes more, and more scattered detail, it holds back, respects a certain distance and detachment.
There are other comments that I want to add but I shall wait a while...

Beautiful. Those faded colours add to the sadness and poignancy of this lovely piece.

Moira is so articulate, I can't possibly compete, but suffice to say I think they both work (having been backwards and forwards like Moira!). I like the bit of colour in the bag too - clever stuff Malc!

Call the coroner, we need a time of death. Some forensic people on their way. Don't touch a thing until Malcolm photographs the entire scene and surroundings. Get on it now, we want this done ASAP or better yet yesterday!

Think I prefer the first one Malc - slightly more intriguing although it might just be that it has now lost its initial shock factor which was most effective.

I avoided the last one, Malc, simply because it suggested war or a bombing and I steer clear of anything like that.
So I have returned to your last Aftermath and read all the comments, including your own. Very clever work, and it certainly fooled me.
I can now better appreciate how you have used this scene to fire peoples' imaginations with what you have created by simply adding one element to it.

Another fine shot, Malc, and after much toggling between this and your previous version, think for me just wins out Wink

Cant say I prefer either or neither Malc..... they are both as good as each other...... but you would have thought that bloke would have got up and tidied round a bit by nowTongueTongueTongue

For me Malc the sense of not knowing has gone now that we do know the story behind the image.
It is of course still very good work and deserves lots of comment.

Not the same impact Malcolm after seeing the first one. We can almost look at this one with amusement, Howevertrying not to think of the first one this is a tremendous image.

I have to agree with Dougie and Danny re the first one being the more powerful.
As not knowing what was afoot gave it the power
