Giant Leap!

I love spending time watching the Dolphins in the Moray Firth. A great way to practice my action shots

A well timed and taken shot Angie, sadly, marred somewhat by the sloping horizon Sad

Thanks Toobi_Won. I never thought about the horizon to be honest. There were about 7 dolphins leaping and not easy to capture.
Next time I go to photograph them I will certainly think about the horizon , I think a tripod may help.
Thanks for your critique, much appreciated

With your choice of subject Angie, I wouldn't worry too much about what the horizon was doing, it is very easy to correct this after the event in post.
Not sure if a tripod would help considering the way your subject suddenly appear then vanish, unlike shooting BiF, where one usually has a flight path to follow before exposing.
With Dolphins, etc, I would use the camera like a shotgun and correct any "errors" afterwards when processing the image. You are very lucky having these beautiful creatures on your doorstep Smile

Thanks Mike. A tripod isn't the best thing to use there as there are always huge crowds of people!
I get too excited when the Dolphins start leaping! It's a wonder I get any clear photos at all!! Ha

A quick job to fix the horizon in post processing.
Well caught image. I went all the way to the Azores to take whale and dolphin shots - not easy at all. Well done.
