This is wonderful, and very nearly perfect.

Part of me wants absolutely precise, parallel (etc., etc.) geometry here - and I'm pretty sure that it never existed in the steps and railings...

Thank John I know what you mean regarding the step symmetry and horizon , there is another set of steps which is perfect but the tide wasn't high enough ...one for the future Smile

I really do love this Jeremy although like John part of me hankers for perfect symmetry. I know its impossible to achieve in the field sometimes and I confess to reaching for the 'transform' tools quite often.
The light on the steps looks just right and the exposure generally really evokes the right mood. Excellent colour. Gets my UA.

Great colour and you could almost walk down the steps, have you thought of using perspective to just straighten the steps on the right side? just a thought :O)

Love V2 especially, enhancing the symmetry of the steps gives a much more satisfying image albeit the original was already great. The simplicity, strong lines and limited palette create a very strong and beautiful work.

Jeremy, sorry it's took so long to catch up. This is such a stunning image mate, from those cool tones to the definition on the steps and really like the black contrast in those rails. Haven't done any long stuff yet with the 5d but looking forward to it was such a hard choice moving from Nikon.......

Paul.
