Otter

By FeatherFriend
This is a small burst of shots of an Otter taken at feeding time within the New Forest Heritage area in Marchwood Southampton Hampshire, that became a National Park in March 2005. The facility is not a Zoo but a rehabilitation centre for injured and orphaned wildlife which comes from local veterinary practices, the RSPCA, local wildlife trusts and members of the public The staff here are so dedicated to helping these little guys and I have so much admiration for their dedication to help them return to the wild.
I find these 3 shots quite amusing, especially if you click through versions 1, 2 and 3 as you can see the effort this little guy is putting in to rip his piece of fish apart. Hope you like it.
I am now in the process of clearing our house prior to moving (haven't sold yet) and have so much work to do so I hope you will excuse me if I click and run during the next few weeks.
Regards,
Geoff.

I ran all 3 fast before I read the narrative Geoff and thought exactly the same, I do that with the preening water birds its great fun, just like the flick comics from old.
Wonderful captures and a great place to visit.

I think the Otter is probably the most recognised and most loved of all our native wild animals. Who could not applaud the efforts of these fine people. They deserve all they support they can get.

Hi Dave, just having my injection of EPZ to ease the pain of the clearing out at the moment. Re the treatment, I never use the same amount, it varies from image to image, just try to make it look not too obvious.........just warms it a little and makes it look a little like film (probably wrong about that, but it's the way I see it).

Thanks for the comment Gary, I'll be in and out when time permits because it may take some time to sell because of the market trend at the moment, also it's going to be difficult to find such a lovely place that we have now, but without all the land.
Regards,
Geoff.
