'Windswept'

By FeatherFriend
Hi all, some good news and bad news today. The bad news is my D200 has gone to a new home (so sad), the good news is I now have a D300 to replace it.
This is a shot (taken under very windy conditions) of a Long tailed tit at a local farm. Branches were swaying in the wind and I was surprised this came out as well as it did. It's nothing special but considering I haven't 'fine tuned' the new camera yet, I think I am going to be very pleased with it. I'm hoping to spend a little more time customising it to my own preferences some time next week (while Fran's away), hope you like it.
Thank you all for the votes and comments on my Red-cowled Cardinal, and also a big thank you to Marilyn for the User Award, I appreciate it so much.
Regards,
Geoff.
PS: Hope you all have a super Bank Holiday.

Lovely capture, they always seem to be very elusive and when I do spot one it doesn't keep still long enough Smile

I love this one, it is so natural and I like the way the wind is getting under it's feathers. Large view is super.

Great shot of the bird in it's natural environment.
Good detail and nice catchlight in the eye.
These birds are so difficult to capture, as they are always on the move.
Hope you enjoy your new toy!

Geoff this is super, particularly in light of the windy conditions. Super detail and clear eye etc. You must be stoked, eh?
I have taken so many photos over the w/end with mine - but haven't been able to load anything yet - my multi card reader appears to read everything except an Extreme 3 card!, so it's off today to get another one. I am so happy though, it is so fast compared to my Panasonic and the high fps were invaluable for the car race yesterday. Will be fun to share tips. Enjoy.
Cheers Jenny

Sorry for not always commenting on the photos. Here at Qatar Airways they believe a pilot should fly maximum hours. I would love more time on ePz and making comments. Sometimes I do, mostly I don't. All depends on the time I have. Have a splendid day!
