Stone Creek

By Fefe
Hello everyone! Thought I would show you this one today............ there has been some nice mono images on the site I have liked and although this is a colour image and not even a conversion................. it is almost naturally a black and white image.
Taken at Stone Creek..........What a great nameGrinGrin (Sound like a place from Crocodile DundeeWink..........In East Yorkshire, it was a very bright, sunny and windy day, the land at the other side of the Humber is Immingham Docks.
I know it is a 50/50 split image, but I didn't want to loose the sky or the water, If this one goes okay I might upload another one next time........
A great big thankyou to everyone for votes and comments on my grot image for Micks Birthday, "Mikbee Goes On Tour"................I am taking bookings for next summerWinkWinkGrinGrin

Rules are made to be broken, and this is a case in point. I like the way the diagonals, in contrast to the soft undulating sky. Very lovely.

A very heavy sky, Diane, hope the heavens didn't open on you, though you say it was bright and sunny when you took it. Carol

Quite agree, Diane, great minds, eh? Love this low light shot with just a hint of colour. Very atmospheric and well composed, and the light so well handled.

A really fine and composition and your exposure compensation has retained detail in the glistening mud.

I was trying to decided if it was colour or mono before I read your write-up, Diane! Wink I've not heard of Stone Creek - I can't see it marked on the map either. I take it from your description that it's somewhere between Hull and Spurn? A great shot, with wonderful light reflecting off the water Wink

Like the diagonals. The rising right to left of the channel under the falling right to left of the weak rays from the sun. Dramatic and moody...doesn't need any more doing to it.
