Humber Glow

By Fefe
Hello all......Sorry I wasn't around to vote and comment yesterday, but I wanted to see your thoughts on my last "rule" break of the series, and wanted to see if anyone spotted my misdoing.....................I happy to say that nobody who commented spotted it, or at least they didnt mention itGrinGrin Mind you I was a bit criptic with my description........................Stop screaming "GET ON WITH IT WOMAN!"....I am going to spit it out eventuallyTongueTongueBlush.............................................
Ok my upload Light The Blue Touch Paper............. was taken without a tripod. I had my ND filter with me and had been trying over that weekend with the tripod and without any real sucsess, so I had a go at that shot just to try to get a decent exposure... I was quite pleased with the outcome.Smile
Right then, this one taken at Kilnsea, Spurn. On the evening I had failed the long exposure(With tripodTongueTongueTongueSad),......I gave up and went for a regular shot.

Hats off to all you Long Exposers.....its not easyTongueTongueSadGrin

If all that Yadda makes sense I am a DutchmanWink

And a very beautiful shot this is: low light and rich colours just before night descends.

Of course I knew you hadn't used a tripod, well, I did after you told me this morning Blush. I have to say, I couldn't live without my tripod although do like free hand for those immediate opportunities the pop up now and then, always assuming I am ready for it.

Diane, this is a stunner, the colour is so warm and cosy, the aperture setting gives you a great depth of field and I love the foreground silhouette; for free hand, you've got to give yourself a pat on the back, I would have used a tripod.

It's a cracking good image of the sunset, Diane.
Top Marks for this one, especially because it was taken without a tripod.
Balanced the camera on your iron, did you...???!!!

Maybe a folding monopod would be a good compromise?
Lots not to like about tripods though.

Good picture, well presented.
