Multiple Uploads

I have had a virtual lifelong interest in photography which over the years has waxed and waned but was fully re-awakened with the coming of the digital age. I take photographs for my own enjoyment and if others also enjoy my images then that for me is a bonus. As you will gather from my portfolio I have no particularly speciality and dabble in most photographic genre.

Multiple Uploads

Yesterday I did a multiple upload of four photos for the first time and the interest was way down on single uploads. Is this the experience of others I wonder?

I also wonder whether anybody else on ePz find the upload system somewhat illogical. You are only allowed one upload a day but within that upload there does not appear to be a maximum number of uploads you can make. The maximum I have seen is 15.

It is of course very useful feature for showing before and after and variations of the same photograph but the Reportage/Documentary facility for countless and often totally unrelated images is puzzling.

Hi Albert,

Yes, I suppose the versions gallery could be exploited to allow multiple uploads per day, however, it still only appears in the gallery as 1 upload.

I don't remember off the top of my head, but I believe you are correct that the max number of versions you can have on 1 photo is around 15.

Yes, people in the past have exploited this feature, but more people have used it for its true purpose. The original idea was to allow users to show a work in progress, but we then expanded it to a few other times such as reportage and tests.

The number you can upload is 19. It allows people who have loads of time spare to view many more photos, and gives you a chance to upload a series from one shoot. If we removed the restriction in the main gallery it would become flooded and the quality of views/comments/votes would decline. So it's all done logically for a reason.

Thank you David and Pete for your feedback and yes I can follow the logic of one upload per day. But 19 uploads within an upload did seem OTT.

Thanks again,

Albert

I found it quite a pressure initially as it almost became the norm to upload several That's possible for me in holidays or when I'm not in the mood for other things that should come first!!! However I've found its taken me a while to feel confident enough about a shot to be saying to myself "this is it!" and not give additional uploads.
Its all a matter of how much time you can spare for the site as well as developing your photography

Don't be pressured by what others do Helen. I rarely upload more than one because I want reaction to that one when you upload several that reaction gets diluted.
