Eat healthy, think better

By fighterjockey
Took this photo 'just like that'. The fresh salad was looking too tempting a photo to resist .
Couldn't help the lighting much except the mirror placed on left side.
Expect your valuable comments about how lighting could have been better(with limited resources)?
Also suggest what all could be done as a part of post production (except for the pumped-up saturation)?
Thanks....

Hello, Pranjal. I like the subject and the colours, and especially the patterns on the centres of the cucumber, they could make a good abstract in themselves. The lighting is uneven, too bright on the right side. It has, however, provided some highlights to the tomato and cucumber. This helps to give the "juicy" appetizing look to the food. Overall, I think you did well. In my modification, I cropped away the bright area on the right side, cloned out some bits of background top and bottom left, brightened and sharpened a little, then added a frame.

Hi Pamela,
Thanks a lot for your valuable feedback.
Its a privilege to learn from experts like you.
The mod uploaded by you is exactly what I was expecting out of this shot; I guess post-production is mandatory part of photography Smile.
Cheers.

Pranjal.
