Passion

Just wanted to capture a match-stick at the point of ignition or I was just scaling my Canon-1000D Wink , truth be told.
With hardly any light source around, I (guess) couldn't afford a faster shutter speed. Shutter 1/125, ISO 400.
Critiques are welcome. Please point out anything/everything that could be better in this shot.
Thanks for visiting.

PS: At the time of upload I came to know that similar attempts have been made by other EPZ members too, 'Match' by job3210 became one of my favorite.

Very cleverly captured, Pranjal, and it looks like you achieved your goal. Your background is nice and clean, and the shape and colour of the flame is good. I particularly like the edge red/gold rays. Yes, job3210's is good, and he seems to have avoided the brighter inner areas, which could be due to his fast shutter speed and low ISO, but he does say that he used a torch for lighting. I also like MarcPK's "Igniting Match" because of the smoke trail that has been included, but I don't think that's the sort of effect you were going for. So, I am wondering if you should try to get some colour in the central light areas, for an even more dramatic effect. Even so, I would rate yours well above a lot of those that I viewed.

Pamela - Special thanks to you for your feedback. Smile
You've been a mentor for me ever since I joined EPZ.
Yes I do have an idea about a similar shot(if not the same) in mind and I would be keeping in mind all these lessons/observations.

Encouraging comments/ critiques like yours, motivate me to do better and better.....
Cheers.
