The Gardeners' Gate

By filmphotographyblog
Taken at Wallington, a National Trust property in Northumberland

I was aiming for a quiet and understated photo which invites the viewer to consider what goes on around the area. I may return to photograph the same scene in different seasons.

Lovely subject, nice subtle tones. I think the subject would work well sepia toned, hence my mod.

The scene has lots of potential - interesting door and brickwork, possibility of some nice plants later in the year. But with this kind of photo you need the right light to show it off at its best. Nothing too harsh, so perhaps later in the day and coming in from the side to give some modelling and counterbalance the flat look. It's nice to have founf a location yuo can return to and capture through the seasons.

Good luck and best wishes
