Leaving a little bit of history in the Far East

Clearly seen in this Shield engraved in Gothic Letters 'Victoria Dei Gratie Britanniarum ~ Regina Fidei Defensor,' after referring to the London Journal of Arts and Sciences vol 12, W Newton, 1838, I found out, these letters refer to 'Victory, by the Grace of God, Queen of the British People and Defender of the Faith.'

This shield is very well preserved, in fact is prominently display on a fountain in the Dutch Square, Malacca surrounded by and the main Dutch townhouse, or Stadthuys, along with the Dutch Reformed Church, now called Christ Church.
