What a gorgeous group - in a perfect setting! You've caught the scene brilliantly!

Beautiful image, not sure of the name, fine lighting and colours.

Very well taken and processed. The f20 shutter speed has really given this clarity. Was it the Sigma 105?

Could be a variety of Sulpher Tuft Fungus Fiona, possibly Hypholoma marginatum which generally grow in clusters under conifers.

A really nice grouping here, Mother Nature has arranged them nicely.
I think you could have benefitted from a small diffuser just to stop a touch of light on the bottom most ones, always a handy thing to have in your pocket or camera bag.

Thanks Janet. GrinGrin Typo amended Grin
I did take some bits of shiny stuff, a small torch and some wellies Wink, but it didn't occur to me that I might need a diffuser. Dammit Grin
Ta to for the pointer to species. Definitely not a coniferous area but old mixed deciduous woodland. Having had a quick look on a certain search engine, I wonder if it could be Hypholoma Fasciculare, but who knows, there are dozens just in the Hypholomas.

Thanks Ian. No, the Nikon 105mm. My favourite lens.

That would have been my second guess as they grow on stumps of deciduous and coniferous trees.
My big book has tenteen (new word) different pictures of one genus on each page, there are 287 pages ! Wink

I think they are sulphur tuft mushrooms. Very beautiful but very poisonous.
