Red Admiral

By Focus_Man
Poor butterflies are presently searching for whatever is left of my 4 Buddleia plants heads - very little as you can see.

I don't very often see Red Admirals and there were three in the garden this afternoon searching.

It was windy and was going to be difficult to ensure decent focus and DoF so I raised the ISO up a little and used a smaller than usual aperture in the hope of getting a result.

That's a coincidence, Frank, one visited my buddleia today, too.
I think this is a fine capture, but feel it's a shame that there is a little bit of flower protruding right behind the butterfly's head, and so I did a modification where I removed it, as well as a few other little bits that tended to spoil the outline of the wings.

Thank you Pamela -I never noticed that. Buddleias are dying off, only two of them still have blue heads I suppose they will be gone by tomorrow - Hey Ho!

I will amend my own picture and clone carefully, thanks again.
