Daredevil Dan.

By foggytwo
Today ..... A wee bit of art.

This is the story of devil-may-care.
It concerns a daredevil called Dan.
Who had some wonderful escapades.
Because he was that sort of man.
Now if Dan saw a mountain,he`d climb it.
He would dive to the depths of the sea.
He once put his head in the mouth of a lion.
In the year of the queen`s jubilee.
Dan decided to do the Grand Canyon.
On a high wire with no safety net.
All went well `till half way across.
It was then that he started to sweat.
People gasped as Dan kept his balance.
The situation got rather absurd.
On the wire, sat there in front of him.
Was this rather huge blue bird.
Dan stopped in his tracks, unable to move.
His insides they started to churn.
His adventure seemed to have come to an end.
There was nought left to do but return.
Dan turned around on that wire real slow.
To head back to his starting spot.
The big bird started to bob up and down.
Dan shouted, "`oi thanks a lot".
In all the commotion our poor Dan fell off.
The crowd screamed as he fell to the ground.
The bird gave a squawk, flew off somewhere.
Never again to be found.
Our daredevil`s adventures are over.
No more will we see his bravado.
He tumbled on down the Grand Canyon.
Ending up in the wet Colorado.
Father Gregg buried our hero.
Everyone there was upset.
These words could be read on the headstone.
Why didn`t Dan use a net ?.

Great poem Pete. I thought Dan looked in trouble with the big bird.
