the pilgrim

This was taken inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre within the Christian Quarter in Jerusalem. The lady was a Catholic pilgrim and what the photo can't show you is that she was crying inconsolably. Very powerful moment.

find this image really strong, especially after I'd read your description, but even before the figure in the foreground seemed full of emotion.

you're right, you can't tell from the photo the depth of her emotion but, from your caption, you can certainly imagine. I can see her hands against the wall and her mouth so, without being intrusive, you've done a good job of capturing an emotional moment. I like the way you've framed the woman in this. I'm looking forward to seeing more shots from this place.

Yes, this is a good capture of this moment and framed just right. Good to know what was happening as I would not know otherwise.

Good capture Spencer, considering the light,in churches is a problem,I like the way the light at the bottom shows up the pilgrim,then gradually darkens at the top.
