Cape turtle dove and olive weaver

By fotobee
These two birds were spotted perching on my verandah. As the turtle dove (Streptopelia capicola) is a relatively rare species in my neighbourhood, due to the overwhelming presence of the laughing dove, (Streptopelia senegalensis) which seems to push them out, I took the photo. The laughing doves were almost gone from the neighbourhood due to the effects of Bird `flu (maybe pollution ?) but are staging a comeback. This did not seem to affect the turtle doves so much.

Thank you all for viewing, voting for, as well as the comments on my guineafowl image of a few days ago. This is greatly appreciated !!

Have a wonderful day !

Best regards
Martin

Beautiful focus-- the dove is looking very serious!
