Female Pied kingfisher (Ceryle rudis)

By fotobee
A female Pied kingfisher busy spotting fish from it`s favourite perch. This horsefly was busy minding it`s own business, and was flying a straight course for the bird, when he saw it turn it`s head. The result was an immediate 180 deg turn, and it was full speed away ! The fly knew very well that it was a scrumptious mouthful for the Kingfisher !
I would like to thank all the readers, and especially Tefan, (gss), Richard (rgg), Robert, (robert), Philip, (Philip_H) and Danny, for their most prized User Awards they bestowed on my "Frangipani" photo yesterday. This is much appreciated
I am on my feet again, but still a trifle wobbly. According to Mo, the sunburn cream she put on my face, ran into my eyes with my sweat, and caused my body to turn on the symptoms of Horner`s syndrome. I am like one of those experimental animals you find in the labs of the world. A sedative that is developed for elephants, will put them into a sweet, dreamless sleep, but when used on a giraffe, for example, will make it crazy horny, with anything on it`s mind bar sleep, and you don`t know how different animals will react until tested. (I am somehow secretly hoping for a reaction like the giraffes, but, so far, no luck !!! (heh heh)

Have a good weekend, all. Regards Martin
