Pelican - Plan View

Perhaps my favourite bird - The pelican seems well adapted to living in proximity to man.

I've been on fishing trips where these birds acted like pets, waiting to rifle any spare scraps of food while warily watching you over a long drooping beak - or circulating the boat like a sheep dog hearding fish!!

Thanks everyone for this - forgot to explain - the bird is flying relatively low over bright white sand which reflects the strong sunlight under the wings. Otherwise it would have been dark blob aganist a bright sky.

The marco lens may be slow to focus, but boy is it sharp when it does!
