I really like this pose and the set up you've done here.

I did a highish key mono in the mod and used some Gaussian blur and sharpening to accentuate certain parts of the model.

Sorry Fran - Memory playing up - whats my name again?? Anyway heregoes -
I used CS3.
First off, I made a selection of the area around the eyes, and duplicated it 3 times - Iris Lighten, Whites Lighten and pupil darken using screen mode & overlay mode. On each I made a black layer mask and painted over it to lighten just the part of the eye I was working on - whites first and then iris's. Same for pupils. I cut out the catchlights and painted white into the selection using the same method and then flattened the image.
Sound complicated but you just have to be methodical. Happy to discuss.
Lovely portrait though

Wow, this sounds very advanced, you lost me in the first sentence but not to be beaten by method, I am going to have a go at this technique, I'm always up for a challenge so will definitely try this for myself.....Hopefully others will find the information useful too. That's what this site is all about so thank you for your input.

Stunning portrait Fran - wonderful eye contact, skin tones and fantastic light in the hair -well worthy of the front page of a classy glossy mag!!
Love both the mods and have found the details of how these have been achieved really helpful and informative. Its great when people take the time and trouble to share their expertise Smile

Awesome portrait Fran, even better than the last as I like the light through the hair and the crop. Mags really did the eyes nice in the mod which improved the photo even though the original is exquisite.

A really beautiful portrait and I am sure your model was pleased with it. I am not a portraiture expert by any means but I would have thought that there is a simpler method to achieve what was done in the mod.

Love the way you have used the hair to fill the frame in this shot Fran.
Best yet for me.
I agree with Albert - the mod sound far too complicated for just brightening up the eyes.
I would have been inclined to just make a feathered selection around both eyes and adjust contrast and brightness.Smile

I have to leave the wise comments to people who know what portraiture is all about. I love this one - I think it is the best in the series, so far. I love how you put the models wonderful hair in scene.
