You fooled me! I really thought this was a WW2 photo until I read the technical stuff and the comments. Hence, as others have remarked, the image processing is as it should be to create the atmosphere. This looks like a candid shot, but the relationship between the left and right figures is excellent. The eye first catches the shoes and the skirt, then the mugs, and finally the figures on the right. The story is there: the man's head turned towards the camera, the hand on the woman's knee... I just love this. Smile

An individual shot as part of a series that looks promising.

Looks authentic with not only the clothing fashion but the paper bag and the old case on the floor but those mugs do speak of modernity Sad

Well done good processing!like the concept with the colour fits like a glove, that's a nice flying jacket, hand on knee! lol. that's not an American uniform! a Yank would not be seen dead wearing that! lol. if my uniform looked like that my feet would not have touched the ground lol. like it, regards Leon.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Yo Di,

If ones called Rosie and the other is Lee what are the names of the other two?Wink.

As you know this is not the kind of image i'm into taking but I know a good shot when I see one and you really have captured this well.

Take care and remember to always check the bushes for a fishermans friend Tongue

Well captured group, Diane, and the colour-tinted look works perfectly with the subject matter to give it a real period feel.
