Well caught. Beautiful study, you can see every hair on the ape, & every blade of grass in sharp detail. You've also managed not to lose the apes face in the shadow, still lots of detail.

If I may just add a critique, it would be that you need to straighten the shot up. The lines are leaning ever so slightly to the right.

Personally I'd lose a bit of the stripey background too. Please don't lose any of the width though, as I love this type of shot. You captured not only your subject, but it's environment, & by doing so, show it in context. I don't think a "widescreen" format would detract from the subject.

Just so's I'm not ending on a negative comment, & cos I want you to know, you got my vote!

Lovely capture Fran...agree with Davey though...if this was mine I'd probably letterbox the image, to give the animal a bit more impact.
