Jesse

By beckas
I had the honour of photographing model Jesse Kru in Hawaii. We shot in Waikiki, which is a very densely populated tourist area. During the shoot, Jesse constantly impressed me. She is a very grounded young lady with a "can do" attitude and she can easily adapt to any shooting situation. I was also impressed with her posing ability. I truly hope that I will have the opportunity to shoot with her again. I wouldn't be surprised if this beautiful young lady becomes a star someday. In my mind, she already is one.

12 Aug 2101 update: Model Jesse Kru now lives in the UK. She would like to schedule some shoots! She is very beautiful, fantastic at posing, energetic, and so much fun to work with. Any interested togs, please message me and I will provide you with her e-mail address.

Thanks! Not as much as you might think. The model has nearly flawless skin so there was very little retouching done to her skin. The lighting was beautiful (natural light under an overhang) and there was a textured glass window behind the model which gave the image some texture. I applied additional texture to the image in order to blend the bench with the window. Smile

She certainly looks a star.

You've achieved a very classy image and your write up reinforces how she looks; a sophisticated and beautiful young woman. Very clever use of the texture to frame and contrast that luminous complexion.

This is one that definitely stands out from the crowd.

I haven't been on here for a while Becka but this is beautiful. Your whole style has changed and developed heaps since you first came on here and your photos are superb. I like the choice of background with this, and the way the textures contrast with the model, but the tones in the background compliment her hair colouring. Take care.

Hi, was this a studio shot?
What was your lens, it's a bit soft?
Where were your main lights? catch lights in the eyes are wrong
No Hair lighting?
Girls nails are a bit concerning, hand position, looks like she has hurt herself?
Nice Model, must try harder, get a better Camera / Lens

LOL. It was shot outdoors at a shopping mall. Yes, no hair light and no control of catch lights...just me and a model walking around in a very populated area of the city. I am quite pleased with this image and the pose, as is she, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Yes, I have fairly inexpensive photography equipment and it's not because I cannot afford fancy equpiment, but rather I just don't think that I can justify expensive equipment when this is purely a hobby for me. I don't make money from my images and if I ever get to the point where I do, I will consider upgrading my equpiment. This was shot with a Sigma 28-70 mm f/2.8 lens and a Canon 450d. Smile
