thanks for all the feedback on this, the modifications you did Pamela is really good and shows how shots can be improved; one of my biggest mistakes is to rush taking shots, this little crab was so fast i think i may even have taken it on automatic settings i was that intent on getting really close..just loved the little eyes poking out, i will certainly remember to look at editing before submitting images...but big thanks to everyone for all your constructive feedback.

whaw what great feedback from you all, thanks so much.
the idea about use of flash really got me thinking on this close up..and i really need to get my head around the better use of 'f' settings

but the comment that had me laughing all morning was Willie's..never thought about how the title sounded.

thanks again for making me think next time i am out with my camera.

  • gates of an old palace now a Pousada in Estoi Portugal

love both of the mod done to this shot, it has brought the fine detail on the gates and taken down the exposure, it was a bit of a gamble as i was shooting into a very bright full sun, the feedback is good and is helping so much with my photography, its the attention to detail that has really helped me take notice of straight lines and angles.

    regards Freda

ps sorry to say my knees are no longer that bendable Pamela, this pousada was originally a palace with many beautiful features and is now a 1st class hotel you can stay in, we didn't stay there as we have a much loved motor home that we tour round in.

    hi martin,

it was about 7pm, it was quite dark but the moon was full so added the little bit of light..i tried a couple of shots but kept getting pretty dark images of the foreground..but if i brightened the shot it looked too much like daylight..any tips for me on solving this please?

    regards Freda
